  • Explora High School (9-12)
      • EBSCO’s interface for Schools and Public Libraries is designed to meet the unique needs of its users. Explora supports both student research and classroom instruction. Explora search across the following resources, including Newspaper Source, with variance for age appropriateness:
  • Read It! (6-12)
      • Research while practicing reading skills with Read It!™  Helps students with a basic foundation in English grammar and reading who need adapted reading material for many subjects. Read It!™ is also a great tool for English Language Learners.

  • Junior Library Guild, Digital (JLGDigital)
      • This eBook/eAudiobook collection, offered 2/1/21 to 9/30/22, is an online collection that has new books every month that can be read in a browser or on any device.
      • Download the app from Google Play or the Apple Store for free or view in your browser.
      • For app users, please use the username VirginiaReader and the password VirginiaReader.
      • Use the filter symbol to search by grade level. English and Spanish languages are available.
  • OverDrive
      • Access magazines, eBooks and eAudiobooks with your library card
  • Novelist Plus
      • Don’t know what to read next? Novelist helps you discover new authors, series, etc., based on what you know you like.

      • Available seven days a week, 2 pm to 11 pm. Connect with a LIVE, certified career coach to help with résumé writing, applications, searches, and identify development needs.
  • Homework HelpNow:
      • Available seven days a week, 2 pm to 11 pm, beginning 9/1/21. Connect LIVE with a certified teacher for assistance with homework (k-college), research and writing.
  • Universal Class – access from your local public library HERE.
      • Choose from over 500 online courses from photography to physics, computer skills to calligraphy. Learn for fun or to get extra help with a tough topic.
  • Peterson’s Career Prep (Job and Career)
      • These databases are your one stop shop for job seeking and career exploration. Take an interest and skills assessment to identify potential career fields; create a professional résumé for downloading and emailing; view webinars on interview skills, search for available jobs near you with an instant connection to Indeed™’s database.
  • Rocket Languages
      • Speak and understand a new language better. With 12 languages to choose from, including American Sign Language, Rocket Languages also features modules in Spanish and Japanese to learn English. Rocket Languages is perfect for the the business or traveler learner, as well as extra practice for students.

      • If you are new to computers, haven’t used them for a while, are a little unsure and uncomfortable, or just need a bit of a refresher, we have the tools to help you tackle technology at your own pace and gain the confidence you need to succeed.
